Upon receiving a certificate of BA in Visual Arts from Academy of Visual Arts (HKBU) in 2009, Susie L is wondering if she is an artist, a curator or a curating artist. Rather than making pieces of artwork or curating art events, art penetrates into her life in an ever changing way. Ambiguity amuses her as it helps to attain a sense of wonder.

She is interested in relational aesthetics, and is sensitive in capturing the relations  between human, object and space around. By collecting materials from daily scenarios and conversations, she responds to the tasks that she has been and will be doing in a more organic way. Rearranging the sources and collected information makes her pieces of  issue/event-specific works alive. Usually the work is part of the event and the event itself becomes part of the work. Her works were parasites in various exhibition venues in Japan, Macau and Hong Kong.

At her age of 20, she took the role of curator for the first time. Acting as a curator helps her to understand different ways to let art happens. In 2009, Susie was Project Manager of October Contemporary- Now or Never, a month-long festival collaborated with 20 art spaces, with over 100 participating artists and curators. She is currently working on curatorial affairs at soundpocket. In 2010, She co-curated Around sound art festival and retreat with Yeung Yang (Executive Director and Founding Member of soundpocket).

Creating/curating to her is – to gently get things together, and share.
