at last, the one with highest voting was disappeared from the list, and the one with 2nd highest voting- 周春芽 became the “Artist of the Year” in China.

wonder how the new candidate 王邁 feel regarding his replacement for Ai Weiwei..

my friend currently at Oslo said she’d like to listen to the bird singing with me.

i wondered how is the sound of birds in hong kong different from those at somewhere else.
do they speak different language? and sing “local” songs?

One day, i would bring the recordings of local birds’ voices into foreign lands,
and let birds of various nationalities listen, see how they react.

 
I set up a little flea market at facebook. As recently i start to tidy up my office, studio and home for my leave in August. I was thinking “what to take & what to leave”. And i found that, i need nothing much indeed, besides of CASH.

when i was playing table tennis with my mum & bro at a Public Sport Court, there was some vacancy in the sport court. And i was wondering if we could (need to) have similar kind of Public Art Court/ Public Studio with painting room, drawing room, installation room, dark room, print-making room, sculpture room, design studio, screening room..etc. just like Public Sport Court having badminton court, squash court, table tennis court, gym room, dance room, showering room, runway, swimming pool,…And offering free rental service of cameras, camcorder and tripod, as if they are tennis and badminton rackets, or a ping pong ball.

as I remembered that a local artist Ellen Pau said that “arts is all about sportsmanship”, isn’t it?
Looking forward to see people spending time on Public Art Court one day,  let’s aim at 2017.

August 18th 2010 was the first day you reached this continent. At night, I was wandering at the hostel located at the top of the hill, and found you standing alone at a corner facing the 270-degree sea view and the very dark sky. With beer and breeze, I listened to your stories from the 1960s. You let me realize that there is a thing as art not by telling, but showing.

Chinese Arts Centre will be running a series of One-to-one surgeries for artists to present their artistic portfolios, have their work critiqued or discuss professional practice issues with Chinese Arts Centre’s programme team. The surgeries will take place on the afternoon of the last Thursday or Saturday of every month. 45 minute slots can be booked by calling 0161 832 7271 or by emailing elizabeth.wewiora@chinese-arts-centre.org.
